This is useful if you are meeting with people outside of Tufts who don't have accounts. Maybe you don't need the video portion of a meeting or you are unable to join on a computer. At times like these, you can call into a meeting with just your telephone. Joining a Meeting Joining a Meeting This page contains information on some of the ways you can join Zoom meetings. Joining a Meeting Hosts and Alternative Hosts. Log in to tufts. Select Meetings in the left-hand navigation menu.
Joining a Meeting Alternative Host Follow these directions if someone else scheduled the Zoom meeting and listed you as an Alternative Host. Option 1: The Zoom Alternative Host Email If someone listed you as an Alternative Host for a meeting, you likely received an email notification from Zoom with a link to the meeting.
Click Join a Meeting in the top menu. In this article you will learn how to join a Zoom meeting on a desktop computer. A Zoom account is not required to join a meeting. To join a meeting in Zoom, a host must first create a meeting and share a URL link, ID, and password to the meeting with you.
How early you can enter a meeting depends on the host. The host has the option to enable participants to join as early as they like, even before the host joins. More often than not though, participants will have to wait for the host to allow them into the meeting.
In this instance, a host has sent you a URL link in an email invitation. The email will look similar to the one pictured. A few minutes before the meeting is scheduled to begin, click on the URL link in blue indicated by the red arrow in the picture.
See blue arrow You may be prompted to use these to sign into the meeting. After clicking on the URL link, your computer will prompt you to allow Zoom to launch on your browser. Manually entering a password can cause confusion and delays for your attendees trying to join the meeting in some cases. Although our integration automatically embeds a password, a setting in your Zoom account can override this, meaning attendees will be required to enter a password manually.
You may have switched this off in your Zoom settings. In addition to the meeting ID, the passcode must be entered before a participant can join a meeting. A passcode can be automatically created and added to your meetings when you schedule in Zoom, or you can designate a passcode to use with your Personal Meeting ID.
